One child too many

Alissa Chavez | TEDxYouth@ABQ

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Do you ever wish you could invent something everyone would love? How about inventing something every parent might need? Alissa Chavez is a 17 year old student who has made her dream a reality! Alissa hopes to save the lives of hundreds of children with her Hot Seat invention. Alissa will talk about how she was inspired by the people around her, especially those under 3 years old, to create this device which she soon will have in production.

Alissa is a senior at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She loves inventing new products, which she began doing at the early age of 11. She is currently working on getting her first product on the market. She loves to spend time with family, friends and her two dogs. She also loves to run, shop and spend time outdoors. One of her passions is working with kids. Alissa’s plans are to attend the University of New Mexico in the fall of 2015 and continue to invent new products.
