Maiki K | TEDxTokyo 2013
The drive to probe deep into a social phenomenon switches on at different ages. Maiki K. is still in her teens, but she’s already fully committed to investigating the reasons humans deceive themselves—and the price of that deception. More than that, she’s willing to speak out. Born in Hawaii and raised in both Hawaii and Tokyo, Maiki discovered her love of public speaking two years ago. Her recent TEDxYouth presentation touched on empirical controversies related to personality testing in the workplace and why such testing should be banned. Maiki will be incorporating pertinent statistics and an analyst’s insight to further persuade us that workplace personality test results are artificial representations—both of our abilities, and who we are as people.
