TEDxAnjo 2017 – Yui: Weaving Possibilities

TEDxAnjo 2017 – Yui: Weaving Possibilities

Event Date: Jan 15, 2017
Place: Shorin Public Hall, Anjo city, Aichi prefecture, Japan

TEDxAnjo(*1) is going to be held on Sunday, January 15th, 2017 as TEDx standard licence event in Anjo, Aichi, Japan. On the event, there will be significant speeches and performances by influential people from diverse genres and areas. It will be distributed all over the world through the Internet.

Our theme for the second TEDxAnjo is “Yui: Weaving Possibilities.” “Yui” means a system of joint connections working together in a small community. In Yui, we provide the effort to help one another. This also applies to companies in the community. The Chinese character Yui, 結 means a bundle of threads that bind together, which is firm and tight-knit. This meaning has a connection to the silk and spinning industry, which were actually active in Anjo City in its past history.

We met many possibilities nearby in our first event, TEDxAnjo 2015. For the second event,
TEDxAnjo 2017, we would like to facilitate the space where we can weave individual possibilities into a new thing, and create an idea to help each other to do it.

Anjo and the surrounding area are the place where full of human power, people with significant ideas, and people take an action. Most of TEDx events in Japan are held in the city, not in rural area. However, we think anyone in any living area should have a chance to touch or share “Ideas worth spreading” over the fields, the generations and the world. We organize TEDxAnjo as that kind of event.
