TEDxTokyo 2009
TEDxTokyo launched on May 22, 2009 at the National Museum for Emerging Science and Technology
It was more than event – it was a full day experience. Twenty-three speakers from Japan and elsewhere shared their compelling visions and stories with the community at Miraikan, Japan’s National Museum for Emerging Science and Technology. Thousands more watched via live stream and tracked events through Twitter.
TEDxTokyo community made the event a success
We challenged our speakers to give the talk of their lives idea in 18 minutes or less. Twenty-three shared their compelling stories with us.

The speakers were not the only highlight. The two hundred handpicked attendees who shared the inaugural TEDxTokyo experience are pretty amazing folks in their own right, and come from more than 20 countries across the globe.

A dedicated team of more than fifty volunteers helped shape the launch event, including creating the website and other materials, doing translations, filming, twittering, and choreographing all the day’s activities.
